Strategy, Process and/or Business Development:

  • Assisting a telecommunications company plan, manage and rollout several 1st-ever services within their niche.  These services increased the company’s revenues by more than 25% and helped position this company as a market leader, eventually enabling them to command a premium multiple when the company was sold to a NASDAQ listed company.
  • Developed and implemented, from scratch, a channel sales program for a Software as a Service (SaaS) company which in less than 2 years increased sales by more than 50%.
  • Planned and implemented a strategy for a Canadian-based teleconferencing company to move from a white-labeled reseller of services to deliverying all services in-house.  Evaluated the technology, negotiated the terms and assisted with the installation.  Post installation, the company’s sales increased by more than 50% per annum and margin increased by over 25%, exceeding all forecasts.
  • Set up a global channel sales and alliance program for a niche-focused market research company, including partnerships with the world’s largest research consortium and North America’s leading e-research organization resulting in a 15% increase in annual sales volume. 
  •  Worked with an IP-based video conferencing company to change its business focus to being an IP-based video security company, resulting in a five-fold increase in sales and generating an operating profit.  
  •  Assisted a financial services company implement Agile product management methodologies for all new product roll-outs.  This decreased time to market and led to greater buy-in of new services.
  • Created a new business model for a $40M internet investor services company which moved the company from a transactional services model to a professional services model, increasing client retention and providing a more predictable cash flow.
  • Negotiated and secured partner agreements in excess of $50M for a global group communications service provider.

Financing and M&A:

  • Acted as an investment advisor for the same Canadian teleconferencing company, services included:  authoring the Investment Memeorandom (IM); Sourcing prospective buyers; Handling all meetings and negotiations between the company and prospective buyers; and finalizing and closing the sale.
  • Also acted as a web-based collaboration company’s investment advisor. Once again, authoring the IM, sourcing prospective buyers, handling all meetings and negotiations between the company and prospective buyers and finalizing and closing the sale to a London Stock Exchange (LSE) listed company.
  •  Co-authored a business plan for an e-learning company, assisted with the raising of angel and venture capital and successfully launched the company. 
  •  Assisted a SaaS company integrate two acquisitions during a two-year period.  This included sales, operations, professional services and multiple office locations.

 Day-to-Day Operations:

  • Acted as the executive staff for a web-based collaboration company.  Lowered operating costs by 40% while simultaneously increasing sales by more than 50%.  Set up an entire web-based sales and reseller program for a wireless applications company and assisted them with their patent applications.
  • Acted as the interim executive staff for a niche-focused global market research entity.  Set up their channel sales and alliance program, including partnerships with the world’s largest research consortium and North America’s leading e-research organization resulting in a 15% increase in annual sales volume.
  • Authored a plan and led the roll-out of a wholesale operations for U.S.-based audio, video and web conferencing service provider.  Hired and trained all staff and was acting General Manager for the first nine months of the division’s existence.
